Muscle fitness is as important as keeping your cardiovasculor system healthy. Human movement depends on transforming the chemical energy bound in ATP (adenosine triphosphate to give it the full name) into mechanical motion.
This energy transformation is achieved through the actions of the skeletal muscle system. Muscular forces acting on the body's boney lever system cause one or more bones to move about their joint axis.
So in order to develop strong and flexible movement of joints as well as decrease the risk of creating inbalances in the skeletal system (in turn creating future problems such as low back pain etc), muscle health is essential.
As well as that a healthy muscular and toned body can improve your weight lose goals as stronger, larger, more defined muscles require more energy. This results in increasing the body's metabolic rate - which equals an increase in fat burning potential.
The benefits of stonger, exercised muscles are:
The Muscles should not be overlooked in any training plan, whether you hit the weights, perform Yoga or pilates it should be considered as important.
This section is broken down into the anatomy of the muscle where we can look at not only the different exercises for a particular muscle group but also how that muscle group functions in the body.
