Fitness Diets to Aid our Goals

Fitness diets can seem complicated but with careful planning they can be the key to whatever goal we may have set for ourselves.

Personally I do not like the word diet as it implies that we need to deprive ourselves of something. However this is not really the case.

A good fitness diet is about planning for your nutritional needs throughout the day. As well as being specific for the type of training or exercise that is required for achieving your own personal goals or challanges.

Believe me I have been guilty of bad diet habits.

But I learned to tackle the problem easily enough and worked out my own fitness diet plan.

By concentrating on good quality food I discovered how to calculate my daily nutritional requirements to:

  • lose weight,
  • build muscle,
  • feel more energetic and full of vitality,
  • boost the immune system,
  • improve hormonal function....

...to name but a few of the benefits.

There is no secret or over complicated formula in achieving this.

In fact quite the opposite. Here you will find the right information to build up your own knowledge to help you achieve your goals too.

With all this knowledge available then why are there still high rises in obesity, heart related disease, cancer and type 2 diabetes. According to the UK's Department of Health:

"Obesity is one of the biggest health challenges we face. The Government is committed to taking action to reverse the rising tide of obesity. Almost 1 in 4 adults in England are currently obese, and if we carry on as we are by 2050, 9 in 10 adults will be overweight or obese" more info..

It could be that we do not know exactly what is in our processed foods and the effects this has on our bodies.

Another is that many people do not realise just how easy and inexpensive it can be to create wonderful fitness diets from pure, fresh ingredients.

That it is these that hold the key to a powerful array of antioxidents and micronutrients that can support the bodies healing, hormonal plus many more biological functions.

But there still does seem to be a growing problem. Many people are just not aware of the link between health and nutrition and how to fully achieve a healthy lifestyle.

More and more, through the Media, we are getting bombarded with messages about antioxidants, saturated fats and hydrogenated fats.

As well as certain supplement manufacturers promising they can improve your physique ( I can not understand how a pill can improve upon a good fitness diet of wholesome foods).

No wonder most people get lost in the bewildering amount of information!

Also what are Superfoods anyway? Does the label Superfood actually justify the elevated cost of that particular product (blueberries are classed as a Superfood and I can grow them for free in my garden - honestly I actually am.

All of the above are clever marketing tricks. We need to sift through the BS! That is why I shall be looking at nutritional values of the most popular foods we eat and how certain vitamins and minerals enhance our health.

I shall also look at how our body utilises good ratios of protein, carbohydrates, minerals and vitamins from the healthy food we eat. As well as how you can design your own healthy eating plan to assist in achieving your own goals.

Also check out the relevant articles section (which will be added to quite regularly) as well for further information on:

  • hydrogentated fats
  • Weight Loss Pills
  • Vegans and Vitamins....etc.

These articles will fight through the corporate jargon and clever advertising, to inform you of what the actual ingredients are to be found in most processed foods.

What to avoid or at the very least keep a close eye on and most importantly...

....what foods are delicious and very good for us.

But please note - and I have to add this disclaimer - that I am not a Medical Professional, information obtained from this site is not designed to provide a diagnosis, this site is for raising awareness only. Whilst my advice is based on years of research and a passion for good quality food, it may only be used as a guide. Everyone has a unique lifestyle and different dietary requirements depending on various factors, age, weight, height, job to name a few.

If you suffer any physical discomfort, have special dietary requirements or experience tiredness you are always recommended to consult a doctor or a qualified medical professional.
