How to improve core stability and reduce back pain

Better core stability is not hard to achieve. Alot of the exercises that I promote are directly related to the advice and support I have recieved from the very skilled and highly professional physiotherapist, orthopeadic consultant and Doctor that have been treating me.

The information I share on these pages are all methods that at some time I have used myself or come from trusted sources, people whom I myself trust.

One of the main reasons core stability is important is in helping prevent or reduce back pain as well as preventing any serious back injury that could be caused by improper posture or lifting techniques.

Important Information

But remember before starting any exercise routine please seek professional medical advice. Some of the methods talked about here may not be safe to perform if you have a suspected disc problem or any physical injury to your back.

From my own personal perspective having undergone a microdiscectomy (removal of a disc in the spine) core stability is an absolute must.

This section is dedicated to your core and the exercises that can help develop it. Do not underestimate the power of a strong core. It is not just important to maintain core stability in order to prevent back pain and injury but it could also help aid in increased sports performance.

A strong core could help you improve your strength in your squat or bench press as well as increasing power and speed in many different sports.

The menu to the left will lead you through different topics of interest and as always check out the "relevant articles" section as there will be information there that could increase your knowledge in this area, such as the article regarding the front squats entitled:

"The Greatest Quad Builder... That Almost No One Wants To Do
By Tom Venuto, NSCA-CPT, CSCS".

This might not seem like a great core strengthening exercise but as the article states:

'..the barbell front squat is an outstanding "core" exercise.'

So keep your eye on this section as well. As I research more information, which I do regularly from respected sources, I shall be adding new articles that might be of interest to you.
